Before the war

In the 30’s, our man Mussolini decided to have a World’s Fair in Rome.  He began building south of the city and he called it the Esposizione Universale Roma or E.U.R. for short.  He even built a mausoleum for himself.
Times changed... Benito was hung out to dry and the Church snagged the tomb and renamed it the Basicila of Saints Peter and Paul.
This building is designed with a Fascist theme.  It is HUGE.  BIGLY.  Note Steve and Rosanne in the lower left of this photo.
